Just begs the question as to what prevented work commencing and invites speculation.

So if I read the newsletter correctly the 3G and floodlights are being delayed to next close season which comes as a big surprise. No explanation given for the change of plan.

Yes a good move for him but wonder how many games he will get with his fitness record.

He played much of last season for us carrying quite bad injuries. He is the sort of player who will play with a broken leg if you give him the chance.

I don’t see why that would be the case. We still have our ground grading in place and the proposed works will only enhance that.

I guess we will continue to speculate about the right course of action to take but until the club makes known its plans probably best to wait and see. I can understand what Eastbourne are looking for. I know Mel is very data/analysis driven in looking at potential recruits and this is very much the trend in the modern game. You still need all the other managerial skills to make it work though.

If I remember rightly we had one season in the early/mid eighties when we had to play all our friendlies away and possibly our first few league games too due to the pitch having some kind of overhaul. I know it stayed grass though! 1982 possibly? I'm sure Les or Tony might remember this. 1981/82......
