Re: Club Statement 03/05/24
Nine pages of speculation so far on this topic. If Mel left for another job (the Dowse exit) then I am sure our press release would have said as much. 99% of the time Managers leave for two reasons, results or money.

Re: Club Statement 03/05/24
Inevitably the reasons will seep out into public knowledge as footballers all talk to each other and some of the squad may at some point break ranks. Uncontracted players will move on to other clubs if they feel there is too much uncertainty or they feel that they won’t be part of a new manager’s pl...

Re: Club Statement 03/05/24
He was sacked for failing to achieve promotion at a level two divisions below us. Maybe not the profile we are looking for .

Re: Club Statement 03/05/24
Seems that way although when Mel was appointed we also interviewed two other candidates although Mel already had the job in reality. If we are starting from scratch then could easily be a few weeks before an appointment.

Re: Club Statement 03/05/24
Wealdstone have said he will be a candidate for the manager's job. Thoughts that Luke Garrard could also be a strong candidate. Sam must know a lot of quality non league players and as a youth coach at Tottenham clearly has credentials on that front so fits the profile in many ways. I think he was p...

Re: Club Statement 03/05/24
Wonder how he would get on with the owners? Could be a fun watch. Will be interesting to see where we go next as an indication of intent. Dowse has the sort of experience for the level but coming off a disastrous season at Dartford it would be a brave move. Scott Davies at Slough has done a great jo...

Re: Club Statement 03/05/24
My take on this is quite simple. When it came to it and providing Mel the funding to invest in the squad and cement a play-off place last season there was none. The “owners” don’t have any money and are a pair of chancers. Mel has probably sussed this and despite the PR offensive with the ridiculou...

Re: Club Statement 03/05/24
Another bemusing club statement only leading to speculation as to the reasons why. As they say, Friday evening always a good time to bury bad news. I would have thought Paul Tisdale might have afforded Mel some protection. Obviously not. The end of season collapse may be the reason or maybe Mel deci...

Re: Changes to next season
As with the Premier League this feels like it favours the richer clubs who can afford a much greater depth in their squad.
