Of course, this will depend on what budget Dowse has, which loan players might become available out of contract, etc. Given how difficult our season has been, you've got to ask yourself how many of the current squad should be retained. I just thought it interesting given the massive turnover in players between the two seasons and a new manager from December that we ended up with almost identical stats.

Alan Julian being mentioned as a possible replacement at Slough. Gavin MacPherson, ex Enfield Town, could also be a good shout.

I don't think Dowse would have taken on the job without some assurances about budget for next season providing he could keep us up. The over-reliance on the loan market was really a product of coming in half way through the season when target players would have been on contracts. I think we can all ...
