Re: Testimonial Matches/ Pre and Mid Season Friendlies
Friendlies
We have played several friendlies against league sides over the years, although obviously it usually isn't the first team that gets sent. We have certainly played Brentford's first team lots of times; during the summer of 2001 we had a whole series of friendlies against then league ...

Re: Testimonial Matches/ Pre and Mid Season Friendlies
Pretty sure I was at the testimonials. Obviously they would have been for Perry Tunesi, Tim Hollands and Malcolm Dickinson but I can only remember games against an Arsenal XI, and the original Wimbledon. Not sure which game was for whom.

Re: Eric Levy, RIP
I've just seen the clip of the Hampton fans singing my Dad's name at Weston today...to say we're all greatly touched by this is putting it mildly and it shows what a fantastic bunch Hampton people are. Joe and I are proud to be part of this fabulous community. Thanks all, that'll live long in the ...

Eric Levy, RIP
Quite a few longer term supporters will have known my Dad, Eric Levy, who died in the early hours of this morning after a succession of illnesses going back over the last 6/7 years or so. He was 82. Dad, a long term fan who started to games with me soon after I started going to the Bev in 1980, hasn ...

Re: Slough (a)
Good win. Started well for the first 20 mins or so but didn't quite do enough to really capitalise. Second half we produced a few more chances although Slough were always looking pretty good on the breaks they carved out. In the end though we had just that bit more quality than they showed. Never an ...

Re: Slough (a)
I think we should be going there to try and win...most other clubs below us have games in hand and it'd be easy to slip back down the table if we aren't careful. Bath v Farnborough is a game to keep an eye on, and I can see Eastbourne getting a "new manager bounce" even if their notoriously ...

Re: 25/26 Squad
Well he must have something to have carved out a career in the National League but I'm not sure we ever saw much of it.

Haha, good luck with that one...they'll need it. They're in for a very expensive ride.Josh2002 wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2026 11:31 am Eastbourne have appointed Steve King as manager. Excellent news for the other teams in the relegation battle!

Re: Dover Athletic
I'm sure there will be loads of changes this summer. This manager, as do most others nowadays it seems, tend to favour a high turnover of players. It's just the way the modern non-league game has become. I don't particularly like it, especially the constant incomings and outgoings of the loan system ...

Yes, me too. Great tall skinny lad. Don't remember his actual contribution to the game but you couldn't miss him!Tony wrote: Sat Mar 07, 2026 11:48 am I remember that game. Crouch was on loan from Spurs, a young 19 year old but hard to miss at 6'7."

Re: 25/26 Squad
That has to go down as our least successful signing in history doesn't it? There have been plenty who failed to deliver on the pitch but to hardly even get that far and still be here is something else.

Re: News of former players
Adam Desbois has left Slough following a seven-day approach by a National League club.
Pity we didn't get him back.
Wouldn't really have been a lot of point...he'd clearly have been off as soon as he got a "better" offer. Slough were prepared to have a punt on signing him despite his ...
