Re: Squad change

Absolutely baffled if we let Campbell go for footballing reasons. Was demonstrably really good at creating space. Wasn’t he?

Re: Chippenham here today.

A very frustrating game. A breakaway and a mistake led to their goals. I think Mr Page looks more comfortable going forwards than backwards as a defensive midfielder.

Not because of the free kick, but I think Archy is becoming a really good player. Causes sides problems with his runs inside and out.

Re: Truro home on Saturday.

They were just better, weren’t they? They were quicker, their movement more incisive, and their pressing was first class. Fair enough.

Ht 1-1

Really enjoying this. Amazingly adventurous strategy from Jules.

But it’s very intense out there. Worried that legs will wither in the second.

Re: Tonbridge on Saturday.

That was excellent.

I was worried when Jack went back to Sutton, followed by Ted back to Chelsea.

Needn’t have worried. Jerry seems to have grown in confidence, and Max looked like a Ted clone. In fact, Max should get an assist for that fantastic throw that led to the second goal.

The team looked ...

I had exactly the same thought during the match, Josh 😆

Re: Spennymoor Saturday 3pm

Oh dear, that was terribly disappointing today. Big Fella Upfront Syndrome swept through the team. By which I mean there was a lot of lumping it towards Alex to do something with. But there weren’t any midfield runners to help him out.

A very Un-Jules type setup and style of play, I thought. Quite ...

Good performance against a good team. Big thumbs up for the defending. Jack and Dom immense.

Re: Hashtag United (H)

First half we looked a little stagnant. Somebody would make a run to make space and others would stand around looking at that space. Odei probably the only one who really stood out, trying to make things happen.

Second half much better. Dynamic runs everywhere, people running into the spaces ...

Re: Eastbourne here on Tuesday

What a turnaround in that second half!

First half was horrible. Very static. Massive gap between defenders and forwards. Nobody making runs.

Second half, fantastic. Countered their pressure with runners everywhere. Excellent.

Big shout out to Archy Taylor. That run that led to the penalty was ...

Re: St Albans here on Saturday.

I was a little bemused when I saw the team sheet. We’d put three of our most creative players on the bench.

And I think it showed in the way we played.

The make-up of that team wasn’t conducive to the way we’ve been playing up till now. I think the players played as if they were confused. In my ...

Re: Torquay Utd

I thought we really missed Mike Atkinson today.

I think Odei is a great player, but he doesn't have the mobility that Mike has. And he was playing so deep that he was almost like a third centre-back. That meant Josh and Mauro got over-run in the centre of midfield.

I think Torquay played like a ...
